How do I cancel a policy, change dates or add coverage? What if I changed my rental vehicle?

All policies can be managed from the My Account section of the RentalCover.com website and app. Policies that were booked through a travel agency can also be modified or cancelled by the travel agency's website and customer support team. Please refer to instructions in your booking confirmation.

Changes to your rental vehicle

If you have just changed cars or suppliers, your existing policy is still valid. However, it is possible your vehicle liability may have increased, particularly if you have upgraded to a more expensive car.

Please check the new "CDW/standard excess" on your booking confirmation or with the rental company, and see 'How do I add coverage to my policy?' for instructions on how to increase your coverage amount.


Date changes

You can modify the dates of your RentalCover.com policy up to and including the date of travel, and extend your policy thereafter using the following steps:

 

Change dates using the RentalCover.com website

 

  1. Go to the 'My Account' page in the navigation menu.
  2. Click "Modify" on the policy you want to change the dates for.
  3. Scroll down to "Extend Your Dates". From there you can alter the relevant dates, any changes will be applied immediately.

 

Change dates using the RentalCover.com app

 

  1. Download the RentalCover.com app
  2. Login to your RentalCover.com account
  3. Click on ‘Modify’ on the policy you want to update
  4. Click on ‘Change Dates’
  5. Follow instruction to update dates

Other modifications and cancellations

These can be made up up to the time of pickup.

  2. Login to your RentalCover.com account
  3. Click on ‘Modify’ on the policy you want to update
  4. Expand the 'Cancel' section and click the button that appears.
  5. Select a reason for your cancellation, then click 'Cancel Policy'.
 

 

Note: If you are still taking out a rental vehicle the policy can still be utilised as it is applicable to any vehicle from any rental company, regardless of where it was booked.
