Why choose RentalCover?
Even if you have supplemental protection from your credit card your coverage may not be as extensive as RentalCover.com. Credit card coverage is typically** secondary to your personal auto insurance. That means you have to file a claim with your auto insurer before credit card coverage kicks in. If coverage applies under your personal auto policy you may be responsible for your deductible and your rates may be impacted by the claim. The CDW above is primary with no deductible so you won't have to claim on your personal auto policy. (**Ref: valuepenguin.com)
RentalCover.com also covers the following:
Flat tires, cracked windshields, damaged headlamps, lost keys, and towing.
Charges added to your repair bill, including fees for loss of use, processing, relocation and towing.
Coverage for all authorized drivers when they are listed on the rental agreement.
Rentals for more than 30 days.
Plus, RentalCover.com provides protection for rental cars including mini-vans, pickup trucks, and sport utility vehicles.
RentalCover.com is rated 4.8 stars

Your questions answered
What is the difference between rental car insurance and car hire excess?
Rental car insurance is the broad protection for the vehicle. Outside the US, basic coverage (CDW) is usually included so you aren't liable for the car's full value. Meanwhile, car hire excess is the "gap" you’re still responsible for. If the car is damaged, the rental company charges you an excess (deductible) that can cost up to $4,500.
The rental company’s insurance protects them. RentalCover protects you. We cover that expensive excess (plus tires and windshields) for about 50% less than the price at the rental desk†.

How do I make a claim?
We take the stress out of the claim process with concierge-level service. You can make an easy claim online here, in any language.
We’ll ask you to provide relevant documents like a copy of your rental vehicle agreement, a photo of your driver’s licence, a repair invoice and any other evidence we require. We may also have a few follow-up questions to ask you.
For Collision Damage Protection coverage, we strive to get your claim resolved and paid within 3 business days. For your peace of mind, most claims are settled between our team and your rental company. Supplemental Liability Insurance claims can take longer.
